Who is confused with the word nuts, nuts, grains? In this issue, we will take you to clear the understanding. Dr. San Jaiyodsilp explains these 3 words clearly as follows:


It is a seed of the genus leguminosae , which has knots at the roots that feed bacteria that can draw nitrogen from the air, causing the beans to absorb nitrogen to form protein molecules. Beans are classified as protein-rich foods. But at the same time, there are good fats. And difficult-to-digest starch, which is waste that the body cannot use. But can be used by many bacteria Nuts are therefore classified as a prebiotic food that helps increase the number and diversity of bacteria in the gut. Some ethnic groups also have a culture of making fermented foods from beans, such as tempeh, soybeans, tofu, miso, soybean, and fermented soybeans, creating a food that contains beneficial bacteria in that food (probiotic) .


It is a large seed with a hard shell. The shell is made up of stone cells. Which must be crushed or carve with force in order to eat the flesh inside. This hard shell is designed by nature to protect the good fats. That make up most of the nut’s pulp. Nuts have a unique identity that is rich in good fats. 

The presence of fat allows fat-soluble vitamins to be more easily absorbed into the body. But in spite of being a high-fat food, nuts are still popular as a diet food because nuts contain a lot of waste, which helps slow down the absorption of fat into the body. Other nutrients in nuts are similar to nuts. Like beans, they are considered a good prebiotic food.


 It is a small grain which is unique as a source of starch and sugar which is a quick source of energy. The surface of the grains next to the husk is rich in fiber and nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, making whole grains such as brown rice and whole wheat bread a healthy food because it is both a source of energy and rich in fiber necessary for intestinal bacteria.
