Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney hopes Erik ten Hag can weather the difficult time at the club.

The Netherlands manager is under pressure to lose his job following a disappointing start to the Premier League season. Winning just two of his first seven games and leaving United 14th in the table with just eight points. And the Red Devils’ board are reportedly considering whether to make any changes to their manager during the international break.

Ask if Ten Hag is the right man for Manchester United, Rooney told Ufabet Sports News: “It depends on how the owners see it, but I’m sure Ten Hag is a great manager.”

“He’s won trophies everywhere he’s been and he’s won trophies with Manchester United, yeah, he’s going through a tough time and I think he’s saying that to himself.”

“But you hope he can turn things around because too often managers lose their jobs and then have to rebuild the team with another manager.”

United have managed only three wins from UFABET their 10 matches across all competitions since finishing eighth in the Premier League last season. Leading Rooney to question the players’ performances.

“I think it’s difficult and anyone would admit that Manchester United want to be challenging for titles. So to be 14th. I’m sure everyone at the club knows they need to improve on that,” said the Plymouth manager.

“I know Erik Ten Hag is doing everything he can to try and improve that. Players again, and I said this last season, need to do better than what they’re doing.

“There’s a big turnaround of players over the last few years. You just want to see them challenging again.”
